Yes, another week has gone by and we are now on episode 3 of Winter 2012’s Nisemonogatari. The story finally starts turning its gears with some pretty interesting developments, along with the introduction of the “big bad” himself. Oh, and did I mention more Senjougahara?

A Quick Look at HanTsuki
“Love conquers all”. It’s a wonderful thing to believe in, and has proven its effectiveness most of the time. Countless movies, novels, television shows, up to anime and manga have had its fair share of the miracles of love. That is to say, most of the time what love needed to overcome was something fantastical altogether. What happens then, if the obstacle is too tangible, too real. Would love be enough?
Kicking it with some old school romance, here’s a Quick Look at HanTsuki.
Nisemonogatari: The older little sister Karen
Here we are, episode two of Winter 2012’s Nisemonogatari. Re-introducing the trend from Bakemonogatari, the episode starts out with a distinct (and might I add nice) OP sequence for the first arc, which is the Karen Bee arc.
Blog Carnival: Roundup
After a week of discussion and reading my fellow ani-bloggers’ posts, I think its safe to say that it was a very nice learning experience.
Blog Carnival: What Makes a 10/10 Anime?
Come one, Come all!
Welcome readers, and welcome to my entry for the Blog Carnival. Yes, an Anime Blog Carnival. Orchestrated by du5k from One Minute of Dusk, the idea is that, du5k, and other fellow ani-bloggers (me included) write a post focusing on one uniform topic, which in this carnival, is about what makes a 10/10 anime – to create a widespread discussion among both the readers and the ani-blogging community.
So step right up, boys and girls, don’t be shy, and let’s get this carnival on the road.
Nisemonogatari: Don’t tease us, Sengoku
Hey guys. Gonna do something new this year, and try my hand at episodic reviews. And what better show to start with than the sequel to one of my favorite shows. Let’s welcome back Koyomi, Hitagi and the rest of the “harem” for Winter 2012’s Nisemonogatari!
A Quick Look at Night on the Galactic Railroad
Whenever an anime deals with themes of life, death, the value of living, fate, or any other thought provoking theme, more often than not, Miyazawa Kenji’s Night on the Galactic Railroad will be referenced in one way or another. It’s pretty much a classic novel among the Japanese. Being the curious Filipino that I am, I naturally wanted to know more about it after hearing it being mentioned numerous times. Sadly, I can’t read Japanese, and I haven’t seen the translated version of the novel at our local bookstores. So I went ahead to the next best thing.
Anime Year 2011 – It was a pretty awesome run
2011 was truly an awesome year for anime. Well, some might say otherwise, but, for me at least, it was very fulfilling. I’m pretty sure that it’s the first year that I’ve tried following all seasons, from Winter up to Fall. I only started watching ongoing series come Fall 2010 (for Index II and Shinrei Tantei Yakumo, which tanked. Bigtime.) So yeah, looking back at January 2011, I’d say it was a good start for me.
A Review on The Tatami Galaxy
There are as many possibilities as there are choices. Try to look back at a decision you made in the past – what you ate for lunch at a certain day, a relationship with someone, or even the clubs you decided to join. What if you ate at a fastfood restaurant instead of eating the packed lunch your mom made? What if you didn’t confess to the girl you like? What if you joined a sporting club instead of the school publication? How different would your life be then?
Yes, very much like branching paths in a visual novel, a different outcome could have occurred had we chosen a different option. This “What if..” scenario is the key element in The Tatami Galaxy.
Summer 2011-Fall 2011: Mawaru Penguindrum – penultimate
It has come to this point. We are now one stop away from alighting the craziest train ride this year, if not of all time. Let us take a look from the station we departed last and see, how far we traveled, with our heads on our hands and our brains bullied, all the while watching it all unfold.
