It has come to this point. We are now one stop away from alighting the craziest train ride this year, if not of all time. Let us take a look from the station we departed last and see, how far we traveled, with our heads on our hands and our brains bullied, all the while watching it all unfold.

It has been, more or less, a month since my last update, and prior to that I lapsed into some sort of unprecedented hiatus. Worry not though, ’cause I ain’t quitting yet. So yeah, since it’s my holiday break I thought, what better chance to bring this blog to life.
To kick things off, I’m here to talk about the penultimate episode of the mystery/fantasy Fall 2011 series, Un-Go.
Since its very first episode, Mawaru Penguindrum may have already established a sort of form for itself: sheer unpredictability. Others may disagree though, and say the show is not unpredictable as it is just a montage of crazy random sequences. Well, it wouldn’t matter how you look at it; you will almost always wind up clueless after an episode. With sixteen episodes in, the mystery still remains as a mystery, despite the latest revelations and such. I feel that the series is just begging us to speculate, only to have our guesses flipped around stomped on. So why am I pointing out something that is already so apparent from this show?
Two words: Uncrushable Man
Fall is now in full throttle (almost), with only a few more shows to make their appearance. Contrary to my last post, I ended up picking more shows than those that I’ve mentioned.
The first week is always fun, since this is where we get to see if the hype holds true or not. There are a lot of hyped up shows, and I think it’s safe to say that some held up, while some did not. Here’s my take on the first week of Fall 2011.
It’s the last day/night of September (here anyways, depends on the timezone) and the Fall season has already shown its presence. We are mere nights away from a fresh batch of promising and very well-anticipated titles.
I have been eagerly awaiting this year’s Fall season for a really long time now, and from the looks of it, I’m almost positive that it is gonna rock. So yeah, here are my picks for this season.
In my last post I discussed Kamisama no Memo-chou, and how Gosick set the bar for this specific type of anime. That being the case, a new challenger appears a little late, but proves to be rather promising as well.
My fourth, and last pick for my Summer 2011 lineup, Dantalian no Shoka
By the end of the Spring season, we witnessed the end of a well accepted series that, not only competed with the Mystery genre, but also set the bar to the “ordinary boy-encounters-extraordinary girl” type of story. Yes, I am talking about Gosick. I loved that series, not because of the detective aspect of it, but for the sheer presentation of it’s story. It made it to the top of my Winter lineup, along with Mahou Shoujo Madoka and Kimi ni Todoke II.
With the start of the Summer season however, another series takes a whack at using Mystery, and attempts to knock Gosick from its pedestal. From 1924 to the 21st century, my third pick, Kamisama no Memo-chou.
The Summer 2011 lineup didn’t start out with a bang, and is rather lackluster compared to the past season. However, every dark cloud has a silver lining. And a glimmer of hope appeared in the second title that I picked up.
In my last post, I said that I was feeling wary about discussing the Summer season titles. A lot of people believe that the Summer 2011 lineup is pretty bad. I don’t fully agree with that statement. I have totally been looking forward to some titles, and some of them have lived up to my expectations so far. So, wariness? Pffft. Who am I kidding? I’m stoked to talk about the four shows that I picked up. Compared to my Spice and Wolf post though, this may be a little rough, since I haven’t tried making a commentary about a series that is new, or hasn’t already finished yet. So I did my best in scouring the info that I need, to provide my insights on the shows.
With that said, how about I start with the first title that I watched out of my picks? This is, Blood-C.
