The Pantless Anime Blogger once again stirs us from our weekly (bi-weeky sometimes) slumber as he tags us into yet another blog chain (lol thanks man!).
1. Mention the name of the blog you were tagged by, as well as the creators of this game Realweegiemidget Reviews and Thoughts All Sorts to all blogs involved and including the picture above.
2. List five of your greatest hotties from TV and/or film, i.e. crushes/objects of your affection, including musicians or sports stars too.
3. Tell us how you were introduced to them and why you like them/what appeals.
4. Add some appealing pictures.
5. Tag seven bloggers for their Five Flaming Hotties.
6. Post the rules.
I’m gonna go all 2D on this one because, well, I’ve been posting a lot of seiyuu interviews and band song translations, and I feel like I owe it to this aniblog of mine to at least display some anime-related content (plus if I gush over Aida Rikako any more so than I already have, this blog, and myself, might not be able to recover). So, anime hotties it is. Yes.
I would like to note that a lot of who I consider my favorite female characters lean more towards being cute (Kawai Ritsu from Kawaiso, Saber from the Fate Series) to beautiful (Ryougi Shiki from Kara no Kyoukai, Otonashi Maria from HakomarI), so I had to think about it a bit trying to decided on five characters I’d consider “hot”.
While “cute” and “beautiful” have a myriad of qualifying markers to distinguish them from one another (ie how they’re drawn, how they act, what their voice sounds like), “hot” on the other is pretty much down to what you (or in this case “I”) find attractive — and in the case of 2D media — what I find aesthetically pleasing in terms of character traits and design, while keeping in mind the connotation of being “hot”.
Really, I’m just rambling and saying all this so I won’t have to say that Ryougi Shiki is hot :((( I can’t bring myself to do that to her.
*ehem* These characters are presented in no particular order, and if you have a keen eye you might even notice a trend (though one of ’em is an outlier) 🙂
Kirisawa Fuuko (Recca no Honoo)
Gonna go a bit old school for the first one. I knew her as “Aira” growing up (as Filipino dubs are notorious for taking odd liberties with character names back in the day *coughcough effin’ DYLAN c’mon wtf coughcough*) but yeah no, for a pre-pubescent little grade school boy the spunky speedster of Team Hokage was just HNNNNNG. Also dem jean shorts. It helps that she was also quite the badass fighter.
Matsukawa Saki (Kagami no Kuni no Harisugawa)
Black Hanekawa (Monogatari Series)
V. Juri F. (Yozakura Quartet)
Tohsaka Rin (Fate Series)
I’m gonna let the flames die out on this one, as I am wont to do, but if you wanna share your favorite flamin’ hotties please do so down below in the comments section!
Aida Rikako is cute!!! hahaha
and lol, Flame of Recca. so old school. and yes, Aira. I love her too.
Hanekawa Neko’s tongue twister is enough to fall for her.
isn’t she tho?? :3c
yeah, had to have at least one throwback in there (though part of me debated to put Recca’s mom in instead xD)
Hanekawa is best Monogatari girl
I started to be interested a certain hottie in manga Kagami no Kuni no Harisugawa, thanks for your mentioning. I will explore this manga when I have free time. ^ ^
Very happy to hear that 😀 It’s a short manga so yes, please do so if you have the time! It needs all the love it could get.
Someone tagged me for this too but I will probably save it for times when I’m running out of ideas and have nothing in reserve to publish (which is becoming more of a reality every passing day).
We talked Fate forever and I know we both love Rin, lol. Never knew you watched Flame of Recca though, Fuuko is definitely Best Girl in the show.
I’m perpetually in that state (:D)| ̄|_
*gives Kai a high five* Yeah, Recca was HUGE in the Philippines back in the day (mostly because there was a local channel that dubbed them)
Anime aired on TV and it’s fame locally is always interesting to look into. I remember one channel here started airing Rave and Law of Ueki (in subs too, for some reason) and all of a sudden, were suddenly the talk of the town. Don’t think anyone would have cared had it not for that.
Oh wow, we also had Rave on a local channel too (EXPLOSION! ahh, good times). It’s interesting too because, as you said, those shows aren’t necessarily famous shounen by any means (I was surprised YuYu Hakusho and Slam Dunk weren’t as much of a thing in Japan as I thought they were growing up). I wonder if it’s a cost of licensing thing — like, lesse known shows were cheaper to acquire/air back in the day.
Dude dat time when Sieghart and Haru teamed up…
