ABC Award

Carnival da yo~

abc-award123

Leap250’s Blog has been involved with a handful of ’em in the past, and Kai just got us into another one; the Awesome Blog Content Award (hence, ABC). As a nominee we are then tasked to write about ourselves using each letter in the alphabet. And as all chain posts go, I will then nominate a blogger to do the same.

The official rules are as follows
1. Download the award logo and add it to your acceptance post.
2. Nominate a few fellow bloggers and share the award.
3. Since the award is ABC, take each letter of the alphabet and use it to tell something about yourself.

Let’s get started shall we 😀
(*fun fact, the ABC Song and Twinkle-Twinkle Little Star have the same tune)

Chihayafuru (first episode)

Anime – Well that was generic, lol, but as readers of this blog know, I mainly write about anime. I’ve been watching since ’08, and six years hasn’t changed my feelings for it that much.

Bespectacled – I wear glasses!

ClariS – Probably the only J-Pop act that I’ll ever really love as much as I do.

Dorama – There’s an “o” in there all right. I frequently watch J-drama when I can. Bonds of Shooting Stars and Liar Game are some of my favorites.

Ever 17 the out of infinity – First VN that I seriously completed. One of the few good ones that doesn’t have that H factor, which is a definite plus in my book.

Filipino – With pride, of course 😀

Goose house – A Japanese cover-band I’ve been following for the past year or so. It’s awesome that they’re now singing the ED theme for Gin no Saji S2. Check these guys out!

Jap10

Hapon 10 – Hapon 10 is a Japanese reading-writing-speaking class I’m taking up right now. Being an anime fan helps out in some aspects, but writing has been a real challenge.

I Knew You Were Trouble When You Walked In – Yes, it’s the Taylor Swift song. For reasons even I myself can’t explain

Judo – I did some Judo back in my freshman year of college. It was fun, and it helps that I happen to be a huge fan of MMA.

Kagami no Kuni no Harisugawa – My favorite rom-com manga. Not that I have that many to choose from though. What makes it a bit more memorable was that I read while it was still ongoing (which was a first for me at the time), and subsequently seeing it end was nice.

Light Novel – Me and Kai belong in the same club really. I read translated ones as well, and I can go on a roll if you strike up a conversation with me about ’em.

Male – it’s kinda funny how frequent I get mistaken for a girl here on the webs (then again, Senjougahara as a gravatar doesn’t really help my case)

NisiOisiN – The man himself. I’d probably watch anything that Nisio’s involved in. Similarly, I’d love to read all of his works (though, that would require years upon years of kanji knowledge)

Ore wa mou ganbaranai – The new OMG (credit goes to the one and only Tada Banri)

Procrastination – And tons of it. I practically thrive on deadlines.

Queries – MySQL to be exact. Had to learn a couple when I got into Library and Information Science, which is my new major following my shift from Journalism.

Oh summer :3

Ryougi Shiki – Need I say more?

SCANDAL – My favorite all-girl J-Rock band. I wish they’d do more anime OP’s/ED’s, but I think they’re passed that point. I mean, they did say their goal was to be the best rock band in the world. 😀

Type-MOON – A franchise very near and dear to my heart.

Urobuchi Gen – The guy who takes said heart, beats it up, and puts it back in

Vice President – Back in my senior year of high school I was a fukukaichou! Didn’t do all that much though (in the end I became more of a fukou kaichou)

Walking – it may sound odd, but sometimes I just like going on walks. It helps clear my head when I’ve got a lot of things to think about.

X-Scissor – Best move ever, lol (I’ve been playing a lot of Pokemon recently).

Yggdra Union – The only tactics J-RPG that I actually did well at (and I really am not that good a tactics RPG’s).

Zaregoto

Zaregoto Series – arguably NisiOisiN’s best work. I’ve only read three out of the ten books in the series, but the experience is something else. I also happen to own a volume, and as an avid LN reader, I consider it the absolute best book I’ve bought. Ever.

Aaand, now you know my ABC’s~
Check out who I nominee’d~

  1. You watched the live action drama from Liar Game? I read the manga, but not sure if the drama did any justice to it with it’s adaption… :p From some very few random clips I seen, there seem to be some significant differences, especially in the characters.

Didn’t know you play VN too, since I never saw you mentioning it :p Do try out Remember11 and Never7 too, also in the same kid infinity universe as Ever 17.

Funny that you mention MMA, something I’m starting to watch these days, accompanying with my WWE-watching, since some wrestlers had also been doing MMA too, Brock Lesnar prominently, and also Batista (the latter is kinda phail though) Pretty new with MMA though >_< Any fighters you would recommend to check out on more often?

And Ryougi Shiki is ftw xD

"Urobuchi Gen – The guy who takes said heart, beats it up, and puts it back in"
Lmao, I love this description xD

How much of Zaregoto series is translated? Last I checked, I don't think much… D:

    • I did yeah. I didn’t read the manga so I can’t really compare, but it was a nice enough experience. Some of the changes include Fukunaga not being a tranny, and Yokoya not having a rat, lol. I primarily started watching it for Erika Toda (who played Kanzaki Nao). She was cute back then 😀

Not as much as other things I do, but yeah, on occasion I play VN’s too xD
I started way back with Fate/Stay Night. I’ve always wanted to try Remember11 but I never get the time. I might get to it once I finish up Umineko though.

I commend Batista’s amateur wrestling skills, but yeah, other than that his debut kinda stank. Hmm, I suppose it depends on the type of fighting. MMA boils down to three; striking, wrestling, and submissions. Jon Jones is currently the most dominant champion in a pretty good weight division (Light Heavy), and his fights are almost always a showcase of how good he is. There’s also highlight reel guys like Joe Lauzon and Anthony Pettis.

      Oh God, that picture! :3 :3 :3 😀 😀 😀

I swear, if that guy ever makes a romance-drama, it’ll be the death of me xD

Officially there’s two volumes published (I can send you digital copies of both if you’d like). A fan translation has made it up to 4, and volume 5 is in the works. Definitely not much, but from a non-Japanese reading Nisio fan its definitely something 😀

  3. Senjougahara as DP? I’d think of someone as a guy if he/she is using the Gahara! I mean, well, she’s cool and sexyyy (sorry not sorry) (I mean, she’s the type of character guys are more inclined to use than girls are… I think.)

    Ore wa mou ganbaranai

Thanks for reminding! That reminds me, my roommate and I used to curse in Japanese with English accent, such that ordinary Jap word would sound kind of offensive. Would you mind? (Without your consent): “Sh*tsumon!” emphasis on the first syllable
… And I can’t remember the other one that we used to say whenever we were stressed. I guess I’ve just become a better person than who I was back then. Teehee

Ryougi Shiki for the win!!! <3

Y-you also took a photo of Zaregoto Book 2 and actually uploaded it here! :3 Comrade! Booksale FTW! (*I also consider it my most precious book)

    • I would assume so, but I dunno what other reason there could be as to why some bloggers thought I was a woman xD It doesn’t happen as much nowadays. Then again, I’m not as active as I used to be 😀

lol, “sh*tsumon!” made my day (err, night) 😀
Can’t remember if we did that too, but lately me and my anime watching friends get a quick laugh out of saying out-of-place-yet-still-technically-correct-in-a-way Jap-Eng words like “I cannot dekimasen” or “sumimasorry”. Haha!

Yes~!! Shiki is indeed, for the win.

      Yeah, I did xD
Felt the same way when I saw your copy on that post you made 😀
Booksale Comrade! I always try to hunt LN’s at Booksale, lol, I haven’t been so lucky lately though.

      • Nice to know you and your friends have that gimmick as well! “Sorrymasen” is my version. XD And oh, I call that the Japanese conyo.

Ah, I also haven’t had any luck in hunting cheap LNs lately. I didn’t even find any manga in the biggest shop/branch in this city. Then again, I haven’t visited Booksale for about half a year now.

What other LNs did you see before Zaregoto?

        • Japanese conyo. Noted. 😀

Yeah, they’re hard to come by. To this day I still regret not picking up a boxed set of Dance in the Vampire Bund manga at BookSale. I crei.

Hmm, I saw the Haruhi ones before they eventually disappeared (there’s a joke here somewhere, lol). Most of the Book Girl books that I have come from various pre-loved book stores as well. And, although technically not a LN, I also bought Chain Mail -Addicted to You- from Booksale.
